About the Collective
Sharing similar beliefs, interests, and practices — as well as their place of birth — Lulu and Delulu is a duo formed by Slavica Živanović and Jelena Medan.
Their collaboration began in 2023 with the project Geographies, which initiated a series of alternative cultural events in Bijeljina (Bosnia and Herzegovina) as a form of resistance to revisionist practices and xenophobic cultural policies — not only in the countries of the former Yugoslavia but across the world.
They see their artistic work as a way to highlight the issues of deeply divided Bosnian society through creative expression.
.
Lulu and Delulu share a common interest in activism and publishing through fanzines. Their approach is rooted in learning and play, self-reflection, and the exchange of knowledge.
By combining their academic and practical experience, they shed light on topics such as the stigmatization of “the other,” mental health, belonging, and identity.
.
About the Project: GEOGRAPHIES
Geographies explore the relationship with distant places by documenting everyday situations and mapping the personal interests of Lulu and Delulu.
The idea for the project emerged from Delulu’s travel ritual — before each trip abroad, she researches the contemporary music, film, and literature of the country she’s visiting.
Lulu, on the other hand, documents her travels through drawing.
Together, they create new spatial realities through illustration and collage.
While maps tell us where to go, Geographies invite us to enter imagined landscapes — and travel without moving.
