On Friday, April 24 at 7 PM, in the garden of Klara i Rosa, a promotion of the novel “The Abbey of Saint Bartholomew” by Miloš Perišić will take place.

Miloš Perišić (1992, Aranđelovac) is a Serbian writer who spent more than ten years living and working in Amsterdam, with additional stays in Rome and Benevanto l’Abbe. His literary work includes short stories awarded at national and regional competitions, including the “Leposava Mijušković” award for best LGBT prose and recognition at the international “Biber” competition.
The novel The Abbey of Saint Bartholomew (2025) is his literary debut, already shortlisted for the NIN Award and included in the selection for the Vital Award. It is an introspective work that follows a narrator on a journey through external and internal landscapes, in search of identity, meaning, and personal desire.
The novel is recognized for its strong atmosphere, lyrical language, and layered artistic and philosophical references. The titular abbey functions as a metaphorical space where art, myth, and personal grief intersect, as well as a symbol of spiritual refuge.
The book has been positively reviewed by numerous contemporary literary critics, who highlight it as one of the most striking debuts in modern Serbian literature.
