Grounding Retreat – City Edition

We invite you to join us for the first experimental three-day retreat in Subotica, taking place during the first weekend of August (31.7.2026/2.8.2026).

For years, the Klara i Rosa team has been creating spaces for learning, support, and connection, offering most of our programs free of charge and accessible to the community. At the same time, in uncertain times, we also need to think about sustainability. This retreat is our attempt to develop a new model that allows us to continue our work while sharing our practices with women from Serbia and abroad.

The retreat emerged from Grounding, a seven-day retreat program that we have organized over the past three years for artists and activists from the region who work with communities and often experience exhaustion and burnout. Through this process, we developed a methodology that combines artistic, embodied, and reflective practices to create spaces of care, restoration, and connection.

During these three days, we will explore the city, nature, and ourselves through drama-based methods, body practices, collective reflection, and creative exercises. Subotica itself will become our stage, our scenography, and our companion in the process. Most activities will take place in the Klara i Rosa space, throughout the city, and in nearby natural environments.

This is not a tourist visit to Subotica. It is an invitation to experience the city through local stories, encounters, movement, observation, and moments of pause.

In a world that increasingly values speed, productivity, and constant availability, we believe that intimacy, attentiveness, and the opportunity to slow down have become rare and precious. Yet these moments of pause are often essential for reconnecting with ourselves, with others, and with what truly matters.

The introductory participation fee is EUR 250 and includes the full program, as well as all meals during the retreat. Accommodation is not included, as we recognize that participants have different preferences and budgets. We will be happy to recommend accommodation options if needed.

By joining this retreat, you will not only participate in a unique experience but also support the development of a growing program that seeks to make practices of care, creativity, and community-building more accessible in the future.
