"A story about yoga for children" was published in March 2015. It is a story for all the parents who want to teach yoga to their children in a fun and playful way, This is also the first book about yoga for children in Serbia.

Studying yoga promotes mental and physical health of children, youth and adults. Dr Predrag Nikic points out the importance of yoga in upbringing and education of children.

Well-designed lessons, in line with the age and developmental needs, enable children to progress in all aspects of physical development, build self-confidence and self-esteem, respect for others, master their attention, and at the same time, have fun and enjoy themselves.

.

This is a story about Masha and Sasha. They are visiting their grandparents this Friday to spend time together and explore nature. So many things in nature reminds them of yoga positions: they could be butterflies, pigeons, dogs, cats, the Sun they say hello to... By explaining their ways of yoga to their grandparents, they are teaching us.

Odlomak iz uvoda („Priča o jogi za decu“, H. Rill, A. Vasiljev):

.

"In our society, children learn about so many things, but not enough about themselves, about self acceptance, self confidence, how to feel and connect with themselves and their health, how to feel balanced and full of life, to accept themselves the way they are and to learn about their boundaries."

.

That's why this story is primarily for children, it strives to direct their focus on getting to know themselves, to discover and use their abilities, to develop a truly humane relations with the people and the nature which they are a part of. It is not a real yoga manual, it doesn't contain theory or grand explanations, and the selected positions and breathing techniques are the ones that are the most interesting. The book could be used as the inspiration to dive deeper into yoga and, together with children, learn about yourselves, play and enjoy along the way.
