We invite you to join us on Friday, May 16, at 8 PM at Klara i Rosa (Petefi Šandora 15) to promote My Discovery of America by Vladimir Mayakovsky, published by the newly founded independent publishing collective Carmela. This is the first time the book has been translated into Serbian, in a bilingual Serbian-Russian edition, by Melina Panaotović.

Mayakovsky — poet of the revolution and futurism — documents his 1922 journey through America with sharp anti-capitalist insight and a distinctive, provocative, and ironic style. Now, exactly one hundred years after its original release, this travelogue is finally available in Serbian.

At the event, we will also introduce the Carmela collective, speak about the origins of this edition, and conclude the evening with a bilingual reading in Serbian and Russian. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
