On the Commons: The Climate Is Changing. Are We Changing Too?

We survived this summer, but what awaits us next? Is climate a matter of environmental protection or a question of social justice? What happens when we cannot work from home, do not have air conditioning, a swimming pool, or a weekend house? Adapting to climate change is not the same as stopping climate change. What can we do ourselves, what is the responsibility of the city, and what needs to change at the systemic level?

The discussion will take place on Wednesday, September 16, starting at 6 PM at Klara i Rosa (Petefi Šandora 15).

The speakers will be Dr. Vladimir Đurđević, Full Professor in the Meteorology Group at the Faculty of Physics; Milica Vasilijić, Coordinator of the Network for Combating Homelessness; and MSc Istvan Hulo, biologist. The discussion will be moderated by Elena Čavlin, political scientist.

The “On the Commons” programme is designed as a platform for critical reflection and collective dialogue on issues that are of key importance to the local community and society as a whole.

This event has been organized as part of the project “Common Space – Strengthening Social Cohesion, Democratic Participation and Intercultural Understanding in Subotica”, implemented by Klara i Rosa with the support of the Embassy of Canada to Serbia, Montenegro and North Macedonia, through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).
