Borderland Festival at Klara and Rosa
Klara and Rosa Cultural Center in Subotica is honored to host the Borderland Festival from Poland on Sunday and Monday, June 1st and 2nd. This special event brings a rich program celebrating multiculturalism, art, and education.
🎻 Sunday, June 1 at 8 PM – Concert by the Klezmer Orchestra of the Sejny Theater
The festival opens with a concert by the Klezmer Orchestra of the Sejny Theater, an ensemble of young musicians connected to the Pogranicze Foundation. The orchestra is known for its performances of klezmer and Hasidic music, reviving the rich Jewish musical tradition of Eastern Europe. Their performances are marked by energetic arrangements and deep emotional expression.

1:00–2:30 PM – Workshop for educators: The Alphabet of the Borderland A workshop designed for educators, focused on methods of intercultural learning inspired by the longstanding experience of the Pogranicze Foundation in working with youth.

8:00 PM – Theater performance: Chronicles of Sejny Chronicles of Sejny brings to life stories and memories from Sejny, a town in northeastern Poland known for its multicultural past. Combining documentary and artistic expression, the play reflects on complex identities and the shared history of different communities.
